FSSAI CENTRAL LICENSE – ECOMMERCE OPERATORS OR VENDOR.
INTRODUCTION
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issue new guidelines under act Fssai Regulation, 2011 for food business activities through e-commerce online food order and delivery.
TERMS
As FDA, Food business operators (FBOs) who do not have licenses to operate and doing businesses through e-commerce platforms have come under the scanner.
Why it will require for all e-commerce operator and Vendor.
FSSAI, the food regulator, has issued a direction to all e-commerce businesses, viz Amazon, Amazon Pantry, Grofer, Faasos, Big Basket, Food Cloud, Food Mingo, Flipkart, Food panda, Swiggy, UberEats and Zomato, to stop operation of unlicensed seller or vendor.
RESPONSIBILITY
It is the responsibility of FBOs to comply with the regulations and register themselves or obtain proper licenses, based on their turnover criteria. A checklist is being prepared to see whether they are operating with or without licenses or registration, whichever is the required of their businesses. Food operators should ensure that the food safety rules and regulations are complied with. FDA will keep a check on any FBOs/Vendor who are selling food items on e-commerce portals without proper licenses, and necessary action will be taken against them.
FSSAI, in its directive to e-commerce food service platforms, has asked that immediate action be initiated to delist the defaulting food businesses.
All e-commerce FBOs should maintain the record of their State/City-wise sub-offices and a copy of FSSAI License issued to E-commerce FBO shall be displayed at the prominent place in the premises of said sub-offices.”
Issuance of License –
Fssai introduce new central license for e-commerce businesses. As FDA, Seller or Vendor or brand owners have to obtain license from Fssai Central License Authority for entire online supply chain. If you think that you can sell online with registration or state license certificate, it’s not possible.
